The MIWE energy consulting concept, which was introduced to the market after the iba 2009 trade fair, is the solution to this problem, offering a way to optimise the energy use at all production sites. With efficient planning and implementation, the concept will result in noticeably reduced energy costs. Over the past two years, the MIWE energy team has carried out a large number of MIWE energy : checks, and has successfully implemented partial solutions as well as total concepts in practical applications. The services provided by MIWE energy thus have been expanded, step by step, to include additional components in accordance with bakery needs. Moreover, the success of this concept in German bakeries has resulted in rising demand in other European countries as well. The first orders have come in from other European countries, and the demand continues to rise.
In all MIWE energy inquires, MIWE takes care to assess the specific customer situation and to take into account local conditions and needs. In order to develop a solution concept customised to the case at hand, MIWE energy examines four components where energy costs can be cut in bakeries:
The returns that can be achieved by optimising energy use depends on the specific conditions at hand. Some possible solutions will not lead to the desired result. For this reason, energy optimisation by MIWE is not "off the peg", but provides solutions that are tailor made to the specific circumstances.
To provide a quick, initial overview of the heat recovery potential in the bakery, MIWE has developed the energy scout programme. Using the energy scout, the bakery can take three values that are easily determined at any bakery site and quickly input them online in order to obtain an initial estimate of potential savings. The MIWE energy scout is now available for testing online at www.miwe.en/scout.
